WebI’ve got an Orange AD140HTC, and the pre amp tubes are pretty old, so I figured a swap might be a good idea. Bought 4x tung sol 12ax7’s and swapped them in, but the amp wasn’t as loud or responsive after. And it was the same on both channels. Swapped back to the original tubes, and it seems to be louder.

The amp is surprisingly clean, not a lot of gain from that thing, but it takes a boost/drive quite nicely.
